My work as a family and children’s professional Chicago photographer, via Marmalade Photography, has been featured in several leading industry publications. My work has been honored in international competitions. And my efforts have been recognized for contributions to photography education since 2005.

Industry Recognition
WPPI Show Guide 2011 – Selected to represent the children’s and senior photography genre for the annual Wedding & Portrait Photography International convention in Las Vegas, March 2011.
Photographing Children: Photo Workshop – Images from my work as a professional Chicago family photographer included in instructional book by Felch and Felch & Jones, published by Wiley Publications. (First and Second Editions).
Magazine Features & Authorship
Rangefinder Magazine – Cover feature and article “We Are Family” (August 2011). My Chicago family photography work represented family and children’s photography in both the magazine (and the WPPI 2011 Convention Show Guide mentioned below).
Professional Photographer Magazine – Featured article (May 2012) on family portrait photography.
I also authored a number of product reviews and technical articles for the print and online editions on the topic of gear, children’s photography and general portrait techniques.
National Geographic Traveler – Photo feature (January 2011). Travel photography from Charleston, South Carolina was selected for publication in this premier travel photography magazine.
American Profile Magazine – Two features: “Little Shutterbugs” and “Oh Snap! Tips for Taking Better Family Photos” (2014).
Teaching & Education
Professional Child Photographer – Since 2007 – with the addition of numerous new resources in 2025 as well as a considerable revamp to the PCP site that year. This educational platform serves families and photographers throughout the country. As a client: use this site to find answers to questions regarding hiring a qualified photographer. As a photographer: educate yourself on how-to-build a sustainable professional photography business.
As the primary author of the site’s comprehensive evaluation tools, business resources, and industry critique and I am excited about the plans to expand on offerings in the near future.
See The Light Workshop – 2007 to 2015, hosting workshops and 1:1 mentorships as well as online resources for photographers seeking to elevate their art and their businesses.
Professional Photographers of America (PPA) – Presented webinar “Photographing and Interacting with Children of All Ages”, educating photographers on child psychology and session management, featuring imagery from family photography sessions.
24 Hour Photoshop – Instructor and presenter, teaching post-processing and editing techniques to professional photographers.
